Elements of Art✏︎ The building block of design ✏︎ Includes Line, color, shape, form, texture, value, and space ✏︎ These elements can be used in photography, painting, fashion, or sculpture "Screamer" by Clark Little 2016 (element of Line)" A backlit wave breaking down the line quickly " This photo taken by Clark Little represents Line because the lip of the wave creates a line that draws the viewers eyes to the focal point of the image. The line defines the edge of the wave and creates a sense of direction. Line:
"Blue Swan" by Clark Little 2016 (Element of Color) " This image resembles the graceful curves of an eye sculpture " This photo taken by Clark Little represents Color because the cool colors of the wave are contrasted by the warm colors of the sunset in the background. The intensity of the red and yellow sunset are complimentary colors to the blue and teal colors of the wave. Color:
"Cathedral Spires and Rocks" by Ansel Adams 1949 (Element of Shape)"Cathedral Spires and Rocks" appears in Yosemite and the Range of Light (out of print), Yosemite , and Yosemite and the High Sierra." This photo taken by Ansel Adams in Yosemite National park represents shape because the mountains in the background create an organic shape. The mountains in the background creates a mysterious and compelling emotion to the viewers. Shape:

The fast shutter speed project was very interesting and taught many students how the shutter speed effects an image. I took these photos to capture the feeling of motion. All of these photos were taken outside on a bright and sunny day. I had to use the sequence shooting to be able to capture the motion of the objects. Sequence shooting is when you hold down the shutter button and it takes many photos in rapid succession. The main struggle I had was not being able to press the shutter button quick enough to capture the motion of the object. I then used the sequence shooting one second before the action took place so I would have a chance of capturing the correct image.
Three things I learned include:
A) how to adjust the shutter speed to capture a moving object in a photograph
B) How to time the pressing of the shutter button to capture the picture in mid- action
c) How to use objects in my environment to capture a creative photo
Other uses for fast shutter speed- Taking pictures of the ocean and waves requires a fast shutter speed. Along with taking photos of all kinds of wildlife.

Respect is the key to any personality. Once you show respect to the individual you speak to, then they are more likely to show the same respect back to you. Respect is represented by the color red, so the idea of this project was to make the red objects stand out from a black and white background. The objects I used to represent respect consist of the American flag and California flag because respect is a huge part of the American culture.
America was built on the idea of respecting those who are also respectful. I found that the color red on the American flag would represent respect better than anything else because it is one of the most respected objects in America. Citizens pay their respects every day by saying the pledge. They pay their respects toward those who built America and those who perished in the process. It is extremely frowned upon for a person to disrespect the flag that so many people died trying to protect.

Light painting: A light painting is an image of a bright object in a dark room. The shutter speed was at 8.0 so it could be exposed to the most light possible. If the subject is moving while the picture is being taken then it will create a blur effect. One main problem that we had while creating the light painting is when Mrs. Moncure flashed the lights to create a certain effect, the effect did not come out the way it should have on our camera. An improvement to the light painting might consist of different subjects to photograph such as many more glow sticks or other items that glow or make light.
